Congratulations! You made it through another offseason. The 2018 USL season has officially kicked off.
Four teams took part in the action Friday night, but San Antonio FC’s season opener will be the final Saturday match to kick off before one Sunday match closes week 1 for the league. For the third consecutive year, meaning every year the club has existed, SAFC will start their season on the road.
Playing Sacramento in Papa Murphy’s Park is not an easy task. Always near the top of the league’s attendance figures, Republic FC puts on a show at home no matter the quality of the squad. While anything can happen, the late departure of Paul Buckle and several key players makes this Sacramento squad seem less intimidating than teams of the past. But USL is funny and trying to predict things before the season starts is tricky. We’ll see what the new-look SAFC squad brings to the table in this late night battle.
